As Creative Polytechnic Indonesia (ESMOD Jakarta) embarks on a new semester, the institution took a crucial step toward strengthening its academic and operational foundation. An internal seminar, titled Strategi Penguatan Pengelolaan Perguruan Tinggi (Strengthening Higher Education Management Strategies), was held to equip faculty and staff with essential knowledge on managing a polytechnic institution effectively.
Transitioning from a nonformal education institution to a polytechnic presents unique challenges that require adaptability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Understanding the complexities of this shift, the seminar aimed to provide insights into best practices for organizing and managing a higher education institution, particularly a polytechnic.
The session featured an esteemed guest speaker, Associate Professor Dr. Ir. Hisar Sirait, M.A., Rector of Institut Bisnis dan Informatika Kwik Kian Gie, who shared his extensive expertise in higher education management. Dr. Hisar, an experienced academic and practitioner, earned his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business Operations from Institut Pertanian Bogor, followed by a master's degree in International Economics from the University of The Philippines, and later completed his doctoral studies at Institut Pertanian Bogor. With a career in education spanning since 1997, he has contributed significantly to strengthening the quality culture in Indonesian higher education. Currently, he also serves as a regional facilitator for Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDIKTI) Wilayah III, actively enhancing academic quality across institutions.
His insights provided valuable guidance on navigating the transition process and ensuring long-term institutional sustainability. Through this seminar, Creative Polytechnic Indonesia (ESMOD Jakarta) reaffirmed its commitment to learning and growth. By embracing new strategies and fostering a collaborative environment, the institution is determined to build a dynamic and sustainable future for its students, faculty, and staff. As the new semester begins, this initiative marks an important step toward achieving excellence in polytechnic education.
