article by KOOL KOMMENTS in news - September 03
DYNAND FARIZ – is Esmod Jakarta’s first graduate in Fashion Design and Pattern Drafting in the year 1999. Fariz has gone a long way since then. Soon after graduation he joined the teaching faculty at Esmod and continues to teach our students to this day. Thank you Fariz for your dedicated service.
While teaching at Esmod he simultaneously opened the Dynand Fariz Fashion House at Jember and exposed the youth there to develop their sewing skills and produce ready to wear garments. Inspiration from his family members led him to become the architect of Jember Fashion Carnaval, an event celebrated every year since 2002. He has indeed contributed in a big way to the development of Fashion
Costumes in Jember. He has also exposed his Carnival in the United Kingdom, India and Japan and plans to continue taking his Carnival to other parts of the world.
His latest project is the opening in May 2018 of an “Exclusive Class for Fashion Carnaval Collections” in collaboration with Esmod Jakarta.
Fariz has had the honour of playing a great role in the Asean Games 2018. For the opening ceremony he designed and produced the Garuda costume for representatives of the 45 countries participating in the games.
Another Esmod graduate – Ruthie Pasaribu and – was also working backstage at the Asean Games in Wardrobe Development
Well done to our graduates and wish you success always!
